To borrow from a phrase that the Clinton campaign used during the 1992 election - It’s the economy.
This is all about the President of the United States of America lying under oath, as Congressman Bill McCollum defined it so well tonight on CBS News. We agree with him that it is about the President lying both under oath and to the American people. U.S.
Representative Bill McCollum asked the questions that many Americans are asking: Is there enough proof whether the President lied under oath?
We admire the courageous stand that Congressman McCollum took by saying it is wrong and an offense worthy of impeachment if there was enough proof that the President lied under oath. We admire Congressman McCollum’s assertion that it is extremely
dangerous for our nation if we do not hold the President accountable and we are to hold other officials accountable like Judges. We admire Congressman McCollum’s statements even though Citizens For A Better America has never endorsed him for political
office.
We would challenge all Congressional Representatives both in the U.S. House and the Senate to take the same courageous stand because not doing so condones the very act of alleged lying and perjury. If lying and perjury is not important to the American
people then our distributed “HAVE YOU BEEN LIED TO?” ™ flyers would not be so popular.
We would challenge the American News Media with their polling to ask a different question that gets more to the heart of the issue:
“Do you think that it is fair that the President of the United States not be held accountable for lying and perjury if you are held accountable for lying or perjury on legal forms that you sign or statements you make under oath?”
As I was watching the news tonight on CBS News with Dan Rather, he shared with us right before going off the air at 8:00 p.m. pacific time that they had taken a poll that “was setup by the great Dr. Kathleen Frankovick”. I have taken issue with Dr.
Kathleen Frankovick’s polling in the past but I would challenge CBS News and all other News Media all across America to really ask the American people the question I posed earlier:
“Do you think that it is fair that the President of the United States not be held accountable for lying and perjury if you are held accountable for lying or perjury on legal forms that you sign or statements you make under oath?”
I am convinced that we will see totally different polling results then what we are seeing now. Do the American people really think that the President is above the law? I don’t think so.
