An open letter to the U.S. Congress: Stand up for
what is right by voting NO on renewing MFN
for mainland China.
An open letter to the U.S. Congress:
As President Clinton arrives today in Red China you as a Congressional Representative or Senator of the United States of America have an opportunity to stand up for what is right by voting NO on renewing Most Favored Nation (MFN) trading status for
mainland China.
01. You are standing up for what is right by saying that the Presidency of the U.S.A. is not for sale to the Chinese people’s liberation army.
02. You are standing up for what is right by saying that you as a U.S. Congressional Representative or Senator oppose the continued sale of technology to Mainland China. Also, that it was wrong for the Clinton Administration to have allowed the sale of
advanced technology. Technology that helps to make the Chinese government’s ICBM’s, Intercontinental Ballistic Missile’s more accurate in reaching their targets. Those targets, as you well know, according to the Chinese Army, are currently your home, my
home, the homes of your children, the home of your grand children and the homes of the children of Americans who are counting on you to protect them. They are pointing those ICBM’s at your constituents; the ones you swore to protect.
03. You are standing up for what’s right by saying that those that suffered and died in Tiananmen Square, men and women who wanted their government to provide the basic rights of free speech and free assembly, rights we often take for granted, did not
die unnoticed by us in the United States. Those that suffered and died were hoping the world community would be outraged and that their suffering and death would not be in vain. Our US foreign policy must be to support freedom and democracy, not
corporate greed.
04. You are standing up for what’s right by saying that you as a Congressman, a Senator are saying by your NO vote that if sanctions worked on the South African government to end apartheid then they can work on stopping the Red Chinese government’s
religious persecution of it’s people.
Now, it’s up to you. “Engaging”, for gangs and criminals around America doesn’t work, why should it work for Red China?
There is so much talk in America today that we are individually responsible for our actions. Some of you have written me at Citizens For A Better America ® saying that you have a policy against filling out Candidate Questionnaires like that sent to you
by us, and that we can look at your voting record. Ok, we will be watching and the American people will be watching. Are you going to do the right thing? Or, will your big donors decide your vote for you?
Sincerely, Rober t Colaco, National ChairmanCitizens For A Better America ®
