Van Nuys, California - Citizens For A Better America is proud today to announce it’s endorsements for the upcoming November 4, 1997 elections. The candidates receiving an endorsement from Citizens For A Better America and listed on it’s “Good Guys List”™
are as follows:
Gregory C. Ferrier, Candidate for Governing Board Member of the Castaic Union School District.
Keith Giles, Candidate for Governing Board Member of the Lancaster School District.
Sue Stokka, Candidate for Governing Board Member of the Antelope Valley Union High School District.
Jeff Storm, Candidate for member of the City Council of the Palmdale City General Municipal Election.
Greg Tepe, Candidate for Governing Board Member of the Lancaster School District.
Wayne Woodhall, Candidate for Governing Board Member of the Antelope Valley Union High School District.
“Yes, we are very proud to be endorsing these six candidates for the November 4, 1997 election, said Robert Colaco, national chairman of Citizens For A Better America. ”The amazing part of this endorsement is what Citizens For A Better America had to do
to find these six candidates to endorse," said Colaco.
“We formally requested from the registrar of voters in all 58 California counties that they furnish us, the names, addresses and phone numbers of all the individuals running for office in their counties,” said Colaco. Registrar of voters, county clerks
in 45 counties responded by sending their lists of candidates, some only after the 3rd request," said Colaco. “We want to publicly thank those that did so,” said Colaco. “Six counties did not respond at all, seven counties wanted to charge us for the
information,” said Colaco.
Citizens For A Better America phoned 808 candidates in 17 California counties with contested races and told them that we are a national grassroots independent political committee, who’s focus is to elect candidates to public office from Party Committees
to the presidency all over America and we would like to either fax or e-mail them our candidate questionnaire for the possibility of endorsing their candidacy.
“We were pleased that of the 808 candidates, 255 gave us their fax numbers or e-mail addresses for us to send them our candidate questionnaires,” said Colaco. “We were also delighted that 37 candidates sent in their candidate questionnaires via fax or
e-mail, while 10 other candidates sent us other responses like they do not want to fill out the questionnaire, they have health problems and are no longer seeking the office, and one candidate told us his golfing experiences,” said Colaco.
“There is a great deal of anger and frustration in the general public about what elected officials are doing. The general public is angry and frustrated that there is too much compromising that is taking place and there is no backbone to make the really
tough decisions that are needed for our communities, cities, counties, states, and across America,” said Colaco. “We are confident that these candidates have the guts to make the hard decisions that are required,” said Colaco.
